A restoration was completed under current ownership which included upgrading the rear axle to a straight axle, a slight lift, new wheels and tires, and air conditioning! Powering this Jeep truck is a powered by a small block 350ci V8 backed by a turbo 350 Automatic Transmission. Though some count 1986 as a model year for the Scrambler, any sales were of unsold. The term "Scrambler" comes from an appearance package with which many CJ-8s were equipped, which included tape graphics and special wheels. Shoppers largely ignored the Scrambler, viewing it as little more than a disproportionate CJ-7, and sales never really took off.
